David Hessie, Jr. is a Video Editor, Videographer, Photographer, and Live Sports/ Events Professional based in the Baltimore Area.
A Stevenson University graduate, Hessie finished his degree in 2020, earning a Bachelor of Science in Film and Moving Image with a Cinematography/Editing concentration. Through personal, professional, and educational experience in the industry, Hessie has worked in photography, video production, post-production, graphic design, live events, and social media.
His most recent work has arrived in August 2025. Hessie has been named Event Support Staff for Harford Community College effective August 18th, and a Master Control Operator for Sinclair Broadcast Group effective August 25th.
In April 2025, Hessie began work in Minor League baseball as a back up technical director and score bug operator for the High-A Orioles affiliate Aberdeen Ironbirds. He also does work at the ALPB level as a Stream Operator for the York Revolution.
From March 2022 to June 2025, Hessie was an Athletics Communication Coordinator for Stevenson University’s Athletic Department following a four-year long tenure as a broadcast assistant for the department as an undergraduate student.
During his tenure with Stevenson, Hessie acted as the primary athletics communication contact for sports such as Field Hockey, Tennis, Men's Soccer, Women's Basketball, Acrobatics & Tumbling, Women's Lacrosse, and Baseball, while facilitating and improving the live stream and the long-form video production efforts and organization/archival efforts throughout each season. He also held oversight roles during the 2022 Stagg Bowl and the 2023 DIII Men's Volleyball National Championship for digital sign content and press conferences. He assisted in the implementation of the new camera system at East Campus, and oversaw multiple students and interns for gameday highlights, broadcast operations, and hype video content creation.
From November 2020 to January 2025, Hessie was the first-ever Social Media Specialist for Hampstead Pre-Owned, assisting the dealership with content creation and social media content.
Originally from Manchester, Carroll County, Maryland, on July 1, 2022, David relocated to Owings Mills, Maryland. In Summer 2023, Hessie was contracted with Athletes Unlimited, maintaining the scorebook for a pair of women’s lacrosse scrimmages at the USA Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Maryland. Hessie returned to Athletes Unlimited in Summer 2024, managing the scoresheet for eight regular season women’s lacrosse games, before the league was suspended indefinitely in December 2024.
Hessie is always seeking freelance work in the Baltimore Metro and Central Maryland areas.
